Happy to announce that Dr. K.G. Deshpande Memorial Centre has added another feather to its accomplishments. We have performed the first TAVI using Sapien Ultra Resilia Tissue valve of the City and First TAVI in Cardiac Surgeon driven centre in the Country. The patient is a 78 year Gentlemen having severe Calcific Aortic Stenosis with Gradients of 82/58 mmHg. Having recurrent syncope. The Holter was normal. TAVI and Coronary CT showed a possible TAVI with good coronary heights but Right Coronary Artery Arising from left Sinus. Both coronary arteries had non critical lesions on CT. we did the procedure under conscious sedation. The plan was to perform the Coronary angiography and assess the anatomy and see for any lesions and to our surprise there was significant Mid RCA and Proximal LAD lesions. So We stented the Coronaries and then performed the TAVI with 23 mm Edwards Sapien Ultra Resilia valve. The advantage of this tissue valve is the longetivity of the valve and reduced structural degeneration.
